Who is Noah in Stranger Things?

In the Netflix series Stranger Things, actor Noah Cameron Schnapp plays the role of Will Byers.

Noah has come to be a well-known television actor making a huge name for himself one of the main cast members of Stranger Things. Born on October 3, 2004, the 20-year-old actor also made an appearance as a side character in Steven Spielberg's 'Bridge of Spies back in 2015.

Noah Schnapp started his career as a voice actor, lending his voice to the main character Charlie Brown in the 2015 animated movie, The Peanuts Movie. Apart from the big screen, Noah was also active on YouTube where he shared various vlogs about his day-to-day activities. The actor has a total of 4.64 million subscribers as of 2024.

What is Noah Schnapp’s role in Stranger Things?

As mentioned above, Noah Schnapp plays the role of Will Byers, one of the main characters in the Stranger Things series. Born on March 22, 1971, the character was initially seen as a recurring character in season 1 and was later promoted to be in the main star cast from season 2. Will Byers is the introverted son of a single mom Joyce Byers. Will is highly attached to his older brother Jonathan Byers and his best friends Mike Wheeler, Dustin Henderson, and Lucas Sinclair.

One of the things that brings Will extreme joy is playing the role-playing game Dungeons & Dragons. Will’s enthusiasm and knowledge in the game earned him the title of “Will the Wise” explaining his role as a sage or a wizard in his group. While initially things go well for Will, things take a 360-degree turn when he ends up in the alternate dimension after being chased by a humanoid predator. After being stuck there for more than a week, Will was rescued from the place and brought to the hospital where he reunited with his friends and family. Since then, his personality has been quite dim and cautious about every little thing.

Abilities that Will Byers had in Stranger Things

As mentioned earlier, Will had a traumatic journey in the alternate dimension. Even though he came out of the place physically unharmed, Will was possessed by the Mind Flayer after coming into contact with it. During this time, Will had superhuman strength and true sight, which was the ability to have visions of alternate dimensions and know how close the threat was.

Another ability that Will received from the Mind Flayer was now-memories, with which he was able to locate the exact location of the Mind Flayer. While this ability was initially great to find the creature, it backfires on Will as the Mind Flayer gets to track him by the same means. Through the now-memories, Will was also able to track Vecna, who was the mastermind behind all the strange happenings in the city.

Sadly though, none of Will’s abilities last long as they fade away once the possession of the Mind Flayer is removed from his body. Still, Will was able to sense any evil creatures around.
