The American sitcom followed protagonist Ted Mosby and his friends as they lived their lives in New York City. The series was created as a frame story, with Moby telling the story to his children, and was loosely based on Thomas and Bays' friendship while in New York. Who is Trudy in How I Met Your Mother?

Trudy is a recurring character on How I Met Your Mother and a love interest of the main character Ted Mosby over the course of her appearance in the series. She first meets Ted in the ladies' room at MacLaren’s Pub in season 1 episode 10 titled “The Pineapple Incident”. Trudy had just gotten out of a two-year relationship and had decided to hook up with the first guy she met. But after she rejected Barney, she saw drunk Ted dancing and signing out loud in the bar on top of a table and found him cute.

Later that night, the two met in the ladies' room when Ted went in to throw up. They had a brief conversation and she gave him her number. Ted calls her soon after, they spend the night together and then she climbs down the fire escape from his bedroom the next morning. However, the two bump into each other again in season 3's episode 3 titled “Third Wheel”, where Ted also meets a college friend of Trudy’s named Rachel. The two girls show signs of being attracted to Ted and express the idea of having a threesome with him.

However, he bails on the idea and is about to send the girls away, but changes his mind, and then the two women go to Lily and Marshall’s room, with Ted following. But he never confirms or denies whether he goes through with things or not. Trudy is mentioned two more times as the possible wife of Ted in season 5 and is one of the many people Ted calls in season 7 to attend a Weird Al Yankovic Concert with him.

Danica Mae McKellar portrays Trudy in How I Met Your Mother. The American is an actress, mathematics writer, and education advocate who is best known for her role as Winne Cooper on the TV series The Wonder Years. She made her acting debut in 1985 with her debut role on The Twilight Zone before she earned her role on The Wonder Years. Beyond that, McKellar has also lent her voice to Frieda Goren in Static Shock, Miss Martian in Young Justice, and Killer Frost in DC Super Hero Girls. Furthermore, the American has also written seven non-fiction books all related to mathematics.
