In the season finale of season 2 of Only Murders in the Building, Bunny Folger’s murderer is revealed to be Poppy White. White, whose real name is Becky Butler, conspired with her boyfriend Detective Kreps to murder Bunny in order to elevate Poppy’s status and earn her some recognition. Poppy, who worked as Cinda Canning’s assistant, had become frustrated with her lack of success.

She was also frustrated at the fact that she never got any credit for the ideas that Cinda used while she worked with her. Thus, as a result, alongside her boyfriend, Poppy murdered Bunny and created an intricate plot to keep public interest in the case alive while highlighting herself as a key figure in eventually solving it. The show presented several red herrings including Alice and Nina Lin before the main trio eventually uncovered the truth.

What did Bunny say when she died?

Bunny Folger’s last words were initially misheard by the show’s protagonists as they thought she said “14 Savage”. However, as the season progressed and the main characters collected more information, they realized that she said “sandwich” rather than “savage”. Even then, it wasn’t until towards the end of the season that Mabel Mora, one of the protagonists, realized the real truth behind Folger’s last words.

This happened after Mora saw Poppy White order an unusual sandwich combination consistently which took her back to Folger’s last words. It was then Mora figured out that Folger meant “14 Sandwich” referring to the number 14 sandwich at the Pickle Diner, which consisted of liverwurst and marmalade. The number 14 sandwich was the same one that Poppy had ordered the diner on the day that Bunny was murdered.
