Ridge unburdened upon Taylor his feelings about Deacon and Brooke. Taylor admitted to Ridge that she'd always love him. Brooke extended an olive branch to Taylor and was taken aback by Taylor's reaction to Brooke wondering about Taylor's dating life. Taylor overheard Finn and Steffy turning Sheila down for Christmas and suggested that they invite Sheila to their family gathering. Steffy was against it, but Taylor reminded Steffy of Finn's feelings and looked at it as a chance to study Sheila. On Christmas Eve, Hope and Deacon spent time together alone, the Forresters gathered at Eric's house for eggnog and songs, and Steffy gave Sheila a precious few minutes to hold Hayes and visit Finn.

Kate convinced Philip to let her help him leave town. The devil disguised Tripp as a comatose Jan Spears so Jan could escape. Lucas confessed to Philip that he had kidnapped Sami. Kate told Victor what Philip had done, and they signed paperwork to declare Philip legally alive. Sami asked Belle for help with her divorce, but Belle refused. Lani told Paulina to leave her alone. Johnny and Chanel announced they had gotten married, and their parents objected. The devil transformed Jan into Belle and lured Shawn to a hotel. Belle walked in on Shawn and "Belle" in bed together. E.J. forgave Sami. Lucas convinced his arrested accomplice to accuse E.J. Rafe arrested E.J. for Sami's kidnapping. Steve and Allie found Tripp in Jan's hospital bed. Devil Marlena set fire to the Horton Christmas tree. With the help of Gabriel and God, John captured Marlena. Jennifer returned home to help hang the Horton family ornaments.

Family and friends gathered to celebrate Christmas. Scott learned that Nina and "Mike" had been in love during their time in Nixon Falls. Scott accused Michael and Willow of potential quid pro quo to get Willow on the witness stand. Victor was revealed to have been behind the attempt on Martin's life. Laura stopped off to visit Cyrus on her way back to Port Charles. Cyrus claimed to have found God after a bout with pneumonia, but Laura was skeptical. Sasha was discharged from the hospital. Brando and Sasha declared their love for each other. Victor arranged a plea deal for Spencer, but Spencer had to spend 30 days incarcerated at Spring Ridge for stalking Ava. Esme walked in on Spencer and Trina during a close moment. Chase and Brook Lynn took "Bailey" to visit Maxie on Christmas. Sparks flew between Martin and Lucy when they woke up in bed together. Shawn moved into an apartment, and he announced that he was the new publisher of the Invader. Dante had news for Shawn about a dead hitman.

Jack objected to Billy's plan to fake a descent into addiction and gambling to trap Victor and Adam. Billy and Lily proceeded with the plan by staging a public argument for Adam's benefit. Sally disregarded Victor's order to stop surveilling Billy and instead followed Adam's instructions to keep filming Billy in seemingly incriminating situations. Aware Sally was spying on him, Billy reestablished contact with his old card-playing buddies. Adam made plans to spend the holidays with Chelsea and Connor. Adam became uncomfortable when Chelsea and Sally butted heads over their ideas for Newman Fashion. Adam made it clear to Sally that she wasn't on equal footing with Chelsea and Chloe, but Sally was determined to make Chelsea accept her as a partner. Amanda suggested that Devon ask to spend more time alone with Dominic. Devon gifted Dominic with a music box that Neil had bought for Devon and Hilary's baby. After playfully discussing their personal quirks, Nate and Elena decided to move in together. Nick and Phyllis exchanged the holiday gifts that they'd purchased for one another prior to their breakup, and they resolved not to lose their connection. Nick admitted to Sharon that it would bother him if Jack and Phyllis reunited. Rey felt like an outsider while watching Sharon, Nick, and Noah spend time together. Nick made amends with Victoria and Ashland. Tessa and Mariah decided to start their own family. After a soul-searching Christmas dream, Nick made plans to visit Summer in Milan.
