Titus B. Welliver (born March 12, 1962) is an American actor best known for his roles in film and television. The now-63-year-old began his television acting career in 1990, with small roles on Beverly Hills, 90210, LA Law, The X-Files, and other shows. However, he never really broke out, instead gradually building his reputation over time with recurring roles on NYPD Blue, Prison Break, Lost, Touched by an Angel, and other shows after his debut.

He also starred in several feature films, including The Doors, Mobsters, Navy SEALs, and others, before gradually rising through the ranks. So much so that he landed roles in director Ben Affleck's first four films, including Gone Baby Gone, Argo, and The Town. In addition, Welliver has narrated a number of audiobooks throughout his career.

Titus Welliver was born in New Haven, Connecticut, to Neil Welliver and Norma Cripps. He was born in Connecticut and grew up in the state before moving to New York in 1980 to learn his craft. Welliver then went to New York University to study drama before making his debut as an actor.

Titus Welliver’s mother, Norma Cripps, was a fashion illustrator and, as per his father, Neil Gavin Welliver, one of the best in the world at the time. Welliver further revealed that she worked in and around stores in Philadelphia and later New York after they moved. However, beyond that, not a lot of information is available about Cripps as she maintained a low-key private life until she passed away in 1981.

Titus Welliver’s father, Neil Gavin Welliver, was a renowned American modern artist who was best known for his large-scale landscape work over the years. He was born in Pennsylvania and studied at the Philadelphia College of Art (now part of the University of the Arts) before earning an MFA from Yale University. Not only that, but Welliver also taught at Cooper Union and Yale before he started teaching, and eventually became chairman, at the University of Pennsylvania Graduate School of Fine Arts. He retired in 1989, but his works are represented in many museums, including the Metropolitan Museum of Art, the Museum of Modern Art, the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston, and more.

Titus Welliver had five siblings, but unfortunately, he lost his baby sister when he was just 14. His younger brother, Elias (21), passed away in 1991. His older brother Silas also passed away from muscular dystrophy at the age of 45. He has one more brother, Ethan Welliver, who has maintained a private life, as there is little information available about him.
