Michael Scott’s search for love has been a major part of the show. After many failed relationships, he ends up with Holly Flax, played by Amy Ryan. She is introduced as Toby Flenderson’s replacement in the HR department. They met each other for the first time at Toby’s farewell party. Unlike others in the office, Holly didn’t find Michael’s humor annoying and actually found him funny. They quickly bonded with each other because of their mutual love for impressions, corny jokes, and childish humor.

With time, they developed feelings for each other and started dating. Their relationship ended when David Wallace found out about them and transferred Holly to a different branch. Michael was heartbroken but never truly moved on from Holly. In Season 7, Holly returns to Scranton, and their relationship picks up right where it left off. He made his film debut with the film Curly Sue in 1991. He made his TV debut as a cast member of The Dana Carvey Show in 1996. Carell first gained recognition as a reporter on The Daily Show with Jon Stewart (1999–2005).

He earned fame for his role as Michael Scott in the hit TV show The Office (2005-2011). He gained international recognition for his work in the show and won a Golden Globe Award and 2 Screen Actors Guild Awards. He also received many Emmy nominations for The Office.
