Henry is one of the supporting characters in Season 1 of The Last of Us. He is a survivor in Kansas City, trying to protect his younger brother, Sam, in a world filled with infected creatures. Sam was deaf and relied on his brother for communication and survival. When Henry got to know about his brother’s condition, he learned and taught Sam sign language, so that they could communicate.

He previously worked with the strict FEDRA in Kansas City and betrayed the local resistance leader to get medicine for Sam to save his life. This made him a wanted man, so he and Sam had to hide while the resistance, led by Kathleen, searched for them. When Henry and Sam meet Joel and Ellie, they team up, realizing their best chance of survival is working together. Henry and Joel are similar to each other as they are protective of their loved ones and are ready to do anything to keep them safe.

However, Sam gets bitten by an infected and changes overnight. In this moment of tragedy, Henry has to shoot his own brother to save Ellie. To overcome the pain of killing his brother, he takes his own life, making it one of the most emotional moments of the show.
