In the early years of the apocalypse, Tommy was part of a mercenary group with Joel, where they did whatever it took to survive. Who plays Tommy in The Last of Us?

Tommy Miller is played by Gabriel Luna in the show. He is an American actor and producer born on December 5, 1982. He started his acting career in theater before moving to TV and films. He made his acting debut with Fall to Grace in 2005 and made his TV debut with a minor role in Prison Break in 2008. His breakthrough role was as Robbie Reyes / Ghost Rider in Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. (2016-2017). His other notable roles include Bernie (2011), Balls Out (2014), Freeheld (2015), Gravy (2015), Transpecos (2016), and Terminator: Dark Fate (2019). He has done many stage performances, and he is also a founding member of Paper Chair Theatre Company based in Austin.

Luna’s performance has been praised for showing Tommy’s inner struggle between wanting to help others and the harsh reality of the world they live in. In an interview with EW, Gabriel shared how he performed in one of the scenes with Pedro. He said, "In that session, Pedro and I completely rewrote the scene. We didn't change a single letter. We just restructured the way that this scene unfolds." He added, "How I eventually built the courage to stand up to [Joel] and tell him the truth and tell him what is an extremely joyful thing for me but potentially a very hurtful thing for him to hear, that I was gonna be a father. That was pretty much the only scene on the slate that whole day. It was just Pedro and I being brothers and doing what brothers do: laughing, joking, needling each other, and eventually fighting."
