Who is Owen in Grey's Anatomy?

Owen Hunt is the Head of Trauma and former Chief of Surgery at the Grey Sloan Memorial Hospital. Before this, the character practiced medicine in the army but was later honorably relieved of his post after his entire platoon was killed. His journey in Iraq often brought PTSD and nightmares which made it difficult for Owen to maintain a relationship with other characters in the series for his initial seasons.

Throughout the series, Owen Hunt has been seen in multiple relationships. His first relationship was with Cristina Yang who he met during the initial moments of the series. While initially, things between the two were fine, it became difficult because of fundamental differences in their life goals, particularly about having children. After breaking up with Cristina, Owen was in a relationship with Amelia Shepherd for a brief period in the series. Similar to Cristina, Amelia also had differences with Owen regarding his mindset to start a family. As of the 21st season of the series, Owen has adopted a son who goes by the name Leo and a daughter, Allison, who he had in his current marriage with Teddy Altman.
