Shemar Moore

At A Glance

Shemar Moore has come a long way from his days as a struggling model in California. In 1994, Shemar's big break came when Hollywood executives discovered him and offered him the role of Malcolm Winters. Shemar immediately shelled out $1100 to pay for an acting coach and, after beating out six other hopefuls, he landed the role.

After leaving The Young and the Restless, Moore went on to host Soul Train and appeared in the long-running CBS series Criminal Minds.

Shemar was born in Oakland, California, but spent the first few years of his life in Denmark, Bahrain, Germany, the Virgin Islands, and Africa. Shemar attended Santa Clara University, where he majored in communications and played varsity baseball.

During his spare time, Shemar enjoys boxing, baking, and sports.
