Anthony Pena: A Brief Biography

At A Glance

Anthony Pena, who stars as Miguel Rodriguez on The Young and the Restless, joined the cast in April 1984. In 1996, Pena was honored with a Nosotros Silver Anniversary Golden Eagle Award for his contributions to daytime television.

Anthony is a native of San Antonio, Texas. A high school athlete, Anthony was scouted by the Cincinnati Reds to play professional baseball. He then attended the University of Santa Barbara, where he majored in English and history and obtained credentials to teach challenged students. He began his acting career by studying with acting coach Bruce Glover and later with Margo Albert, Joshua Shelley and Mary Carver of the Columbia Pictures Television talent search program.

Prior to joining the cast of Y&R, Anthony appeared as Harry Gregg in the daytime drama General Hospital. In addditional to his daytime television credits, he has guest starred in some primetime shows and appeared in numerous feature films.

Anthony's hobbies include snow skiing, jet skiing, reading and traveling. He is actively involved with various charitable organizations such as the Salvation Army, Mother Antonia's Foundation and several Stay in School programs. He and his wife Raylene are the proud parents of two children.
