Yes, the character of Eddie Munson dies in the finale episode of Stranger Things season 4.

Stranger Things is one of the most famous series in OTT history. Created by the Duffer Brothers, the Netflix special has various characters and storylines that connect the audience at a deeper level, leaving quite an impact. Apart from the main cast including Winona Ryder, David Harbour, Finn Wolfhard, Millie Bobby Brown, and others, there have been multiple side characters who have deeply impacted the course of the series.

Edward "Eddie" Munson was introduced to the Stranger Things franchise back in the 4th season as one of the main characters. Eddie seemed to be quite close to the character of Dustin Henderson as his senior and the leader of the group called the Hellfire Club. His club was mainly known for being the only people who were interested in playing the game of Dungeons & Dragons. A string of unfortunate events leads Eddie to join the party and investigate the Upside Down.

How did Eddie die in Stranger Things?

In Stranger Things season 4, Eddie Munson was accused of the death of Chrissy Cunningham by the entire city of Hawkins. While Eddie knew that this happened because of a supernatural incident, nobody believed in him except the party. It was later discovered by the group that Eddie’s friend Chrissy was killed by Vecna, who was killing girls like her from the Upside Down. Eddie, along with the group, travels to the Upside Down to track Vecna and stop him for good, but they get trapped there by a group of flesh-eating Demobats.

Seeing no way to escape, Eddie uses the power of heavy metal to distract the creatures, causing them to go toward him, creating a path for others to pass. While this tactic from Eddie worked in the others' favor, it cost him his life, dying in the arms of Dustin Henderson. His last words before passing were “I'm actually gonna graduate. I think it's my year, Henderson. I think it's finally my year. I love you, man.”

What happened after Eddie’s death in Stranger Things?

Eddie Munson’s death in Stranger Things was one of the most emotional moments in the series’ storyline. This incident not only marked the dangers of the Upside Down but also showed that none of the characters were completely safe in the series. After the Demobat incident in the Upside Down, Dustin was forced to leave Eddie’s body there to make it into the real world. Days following their escape, Eddie was still misrepresented as a murderer and cult leader, but it was Dustin who consoled his family members, claiming that the ones close to Eddie knew who he actually was.
