While the gang struggled to bring him back to his senses, it was with Eleven’s psychic ability that she was able to break the Mind Flayer’s grip on the character, bringing him back to reality and reminding him about his relationship with Max. During the final battle with the Mind Flayer, the group including Lucas, Max, Dustin, Steve, Robin, and the others were pinned by the monster’s advance. Coming back to his senses, Billy realized his sister was in a life-threatening situation and jumped in to save her.
