He shared a playful rivalry with Dwight and often played pranks on him, like putting his stapler in Jell-O or pretending to be him for a day. Despite this, they developed a complicated friendship over time.

Over the seasons, Jim got promoted to co-manager alongside Michael Scott in the 6th season, although he later stepped down from the position. He didn’t want to waste his potential by working in Dunder Mifflin and wanted to do something on his own. Later, he left his job as a salesman and co-founded a sports marketing company called Athlead. He had to leave Scranton and move to Philadelphia for his business.

John Krasinski plays Jim in the show. He is an American actor, director, producer, and writer, born on October 20, 1979, in Newton, Massachusetts, United States. He graduated from Brown University in 2001, where he studied English and playwriting. He also attended the National Theater Institute in Connecticut. He started his career as a writer before pursuing acting. Krasinski made his film debut with a small role in the 2000 film State and Main. His first credited film role was in Kinsey (2004) as a college student.

He got his breakthrough with his role as Jim Halpert in the hit NBC sitcom The Office (2005-2013). He gained international popularity for this role. Apart from The Office, he has worked in many films like Something Borrowed (2011), Promised Land (2012), and 13 Hours: The Secret Soldiers of Benghazi (2016), etc. In 2015, he co-created Lip Sync Battle for which he has received 3 Primetime Emmy nominations.
