Arnaud Binard plays Sylvie’s husband, Laurent Grateau in Emily in Paris. He is a French producer and actor best recognized for his parts in popular detective or romantic television shows that are aired across the French-speaking world. His parents were sports teachers who oversaw the old public seawater pools in the coastal town of Seignosse-le-Penon, where Binard was raised.
He began working in theater at the age of fourteen and experimented with many aspects of acting for several years, saying that "the pleasure of acting never left me." In Bordeaux, he pursued his career in theater while simultaneously pursuing a degree in physical education. He started his career on stage in the mid-1980s and expanded it by traveling to Paris in 1996 to enroll in the Jean Darnel course at the Théâtre de l'Atelier.
