How close did All My Children get to being yanked from the airwaves? Too close, if you believe a report made by one soap opera outlet. A spokesperson for ABC Daytime, however, asserts that the report is not true and All My Children, unlike some of its villainous characters, was never in any danger of coming to an untimely demise.

Daytime veteran Lisa de Cozette has re-joined All My Children's production team. Since leaving her post as a coordinating producer for AMC in the 1990s, de Cozette has gone on to oversee production of NBC's Passions and SOAPnet's primetime series, General Hospital: Night Shift.

Eden Riegel will exit All My Children this month, as Bianca learns that her new wife's friendship with Zach resulted in a passionate pre-wedding kiss between the two. Bianca leaves Pine Valley and Reese behind, but insiders hint that this will not be the end of the "Rianca" storyline.

The Young and the Restless has found someone to play Jack Abbott's new love interest. Former All My Children star Stacy Haiduk will tackle the role of "Mary Jane," a new hire at Jabot. In addition to her AMC role, Haiduk has numerous primetime and film credits to her name. She'll appear in mid-March.

Contract talks between All My Children and Thorsten Kaye have broken down, according to a published report. Kaye, who has been front-and-center in the show's storyline for years, joined All My Children in 2004. There are reports that the three-time Emmy nom is already being courted by another soap.

Cady McClain is again returning to daytime television. She will not, as many viewers had speculated, be returning to All My Children. Instead, McClain will reprise another of her Emmy-winning roles: Rosanna Cabot on CBS's As the World Turns. The actress' most recent stint in Oakdale ended in January 2008.

Phyllis Lyons, who appeared on All My Children in the 1990s as Hayley Vaughan's boozy mother, Arlene, was arrested last month for allegedly swiping a pair of earrings from a California jewelry store.

It's been eight years since Scott Chandler was last spotted in Pine Valley, but the adopted son of Stuart Chandler is headed home. Newcomer Adam Mayfield brings Scott back next month. The newcomer follows in the footsteps of Daniel Cosgrove and Forbes March.

Thorsten Kaye has inked a new deal that will keep him on All My Children. Last month, Kaye and ABC execs had reportedly hit a roadblock and there was a strong possibility that the actor could have left the show. Now, citing the economy and unfinished business, Kaye has confirmed that he's reupped.

Liza Colby is returning to All My Children, but don't expect to see Emmy winner Marcy Walker reprising the role. Former Melrose Place star, Jamie Luner, takes over the role of Liza in April. Walker, who had stepped away from acting, originated the role of Liza in 1981 and was last seen when Liza made a brief appearance in 2005.

Eden Riegel returns to All My Children one more time in April. The actress, who last appeared in February, is returning to tie up loose ends in her storyline with Tamara Braun's Reese. Both actresses will exit the show in the following weeks, but fans want to know if they'll leave together as lovers... or part ways for good.

The Bold and the Beautiful's Winsor Harmon is reportedly in a bit of trouble over failure to make payments on his car loan. Citing court documents filed against the actor, a popular celebrity scandal web site says that Harmon owes more than $30,000. Harmon joined B&B 12 years ago after a year-long stint as AMC's Del Henry.

Amanda Baker will reprise the role of Babe Carey beginning this week. Her character, however, remains very much dead. Instead, Babe will appear as a vision to David -- and possible other Pine Valley residents. Baker debuted on All My Children in October 2007. She exited the show a year later.

Brianne Moncrief is the latest "former" daytime star to sign on to a web-based drama series. Moncrief has joined the cast of Gotham, and will find herself in very good company.

Jackson Montgomery will return to Pine Valley from his impromptu vacation later this month. Long-time AMC vet Walt Willey, who has been off the canvas since August, will stick around for an undisclosed period of time. Fans are hoping that a new head writer will find a way to keep Jackson involved in the show's storylines.

Fans of Chrishell Stause are getting an early Christmas gift this year: the actress has reached an agreement with ABC to remain on All My Children on a recurring basis. The actress announced earlier this year that she would not renew her contract with AMC. Stause first appeared as Amanda Dillon in 2005.

Off- and on-screen couple, Amelia Heinle and Thad Luckinbill, welcomed their second child last week. Heinle and Luckinbill are the proud parents of a baby girl. The pair was married in 2002. Heinle appeared as Mia Saunders on All My Children.
