David pays Di a visit. He tells her that if she cooperates with him, she will be able to live happily ever after with her one true love. David goes on to talk about seeing Dixie. Di refuses to confirm anything. She continues to pretend as if she believes that Dixie is dead but is rattled when David describes what Dixie wore when she went to JR and Babe's funeral. He asks her to not talk badly about him to Dixie and to keep his role in the whole Dixie impersonation to herself. Before he leaves, David drops the bombshell that Dixie has decided to stay in town. Once David leaves, Di yells for Del to come downstairs. When he meets his sister at the bottom of the stairs, Di is quite agitated as she tells him about her visit with David and his claim that Dixie has decided to stay in Pine Valley. Del is surprised but insists that they owe Dixie their loyalty. Di doesn't agree. She feels that Dixie is like a vulture, circling around Di ready to swoop down and destroy her happiness at any moment. She goes on to tell him that there are other people that she owes her loyalty to as well.

JR doesn't believe Janet's claims that Dixie is alive. He's convinced that Janet is trying to play mind games. Janet doesn't give up easily and when JR manages to push her buttons, she fires back by telling him that Babe told her all about her plans to marry JR so that she can get custody of her son get a quick no fault divorce. JR's confidence slips.

Tad stops by to see JR but learns from Babe that he stepped out for a meeting. As he waits for JR to return, Babe and Tad chat. She tells him that she can't quite shake the feeling that something will happen to disrupt their happiness. She feels as if a shoe were about to drop. Tad is sympathetic but reminds her that all the ugliness is past them and that she deserves the happiness she now has. When JR returns home, he's somewhat quiet. Both Babe and Tad sense it but JR distracts them by offering to take little Adam and put him to bed. As he leaves the room, JR asks Tad to wait till he returns. A short while later, JR returns and Tad announces his engagement to Di. Both Babe and JR are happy for him and ask him if they have set a date. After Tad leaves, Babe is in a playful mood. When she runs out of the room, calling for JR to chase her, JR hesitates. He recalls what Janet said about Babe and appears to be pensive.

Julia visits Greg in his hospital room. She pretends to still be trying to deal with the news that she cannot have children and confides to him that her friends have suggested she get a second opinion. When Greg doesn't say anything, Julia goes on to tell him that she has decided not to go to another doctor figuring that Greg is the renowned expert in the field and if he feels that she can't have children then a second opinion doesn't really matter. Greg agrees that she shouldn't put herself through the stress of hearing the bad news twice. Julia then talks about still wanting to have children and asks Greg if he could help her with that. Greg is reluctant. He suggests that she might be wanting to adopt for the wrong reasons. He goes on to say that raising a child to make up for taking Garret's life won't balance things out. Julia plays along but when she leaves his room, she is clearly shaken by the things that Greg said.

Ryan insists to Kendall that he's fully prepared to raise his son. Kendall is resistant to the idea and brings up her recent encounter with Julia. She is convinced that the reason that Ryan is suddenly ready to raise his son without Kendall is because Julia is waiting in the wings to play mommy to their son. Ryan denies any such thing. He tells her that he discussed things with Erin and realized then that he wanted to be a father to his son with or without Kendall. Kendall asks Ryan what he will tell their son when he's old enough to ask about her. Is he going to tell him that Kendall is his mother but that she chose not to have anything to do with raising him? If so, did Ryan consider how that will affect their son? Ryan offers a solution. After Kendall has the baby, Ryan is willing to pack up his family and leave town. Kendall continues to be resistant to the idea of Ryan raising their son, prompting Ryan to suspect that Greg is behind Kendall's attitude. When he voices his suspicions, Kendall denies that Greg Madden has anything to do with her decision. She insists that Ryan is unfit to raise their son and she refuses to consider giving him the option. Ryan warns Kendall that he will not stand by and let Kendall give their child away. He has every intention of raising their son, with or without her approval.

Dixie tells Zach about Katie. She explains that she was not really happy with the doctor that David referred her to and decided to go to Greg Madden because he was the leading expert on difficult pregnancies. Unfortunately, then she had her accident. When she woke up, it was to find Greg standing by her bedside, telling her that she was dying. Katie was born and then she was gone. Dixie is cryptic about what exactly happened but she tells Zach that once she was better she tried to talk to Greg to get some answers. Greg, however, proved difficult to talk to. He had a network of people who helped stonewall her and keep her from talking to Greg. She always ended up being one step behind him and finally lost track of him in Australia. It was a complete fluke that Dixie saw him in Pine Valley. Zach tries to get Dixie to share her secret, specifically what information she wants from Greg but Dixie refuses to tell him anything beyond that Greg is a very dangerous man. Zach reminds Dixie that he needs to know what happened for Kendall's sake but Dixie remains stubbornly silent. All she will say is that Greg is extremely manipulative and has an uncanny ability to convince a person that he has their best interests at heart. By the time one realizes that he only has his own interests at heart, it's too late. She asks Zach to trust her and to make sure that Kendall gets away from Greg Madden immediately.

Dr. Madden was visited by Erica in the hospital. He told her he felt wonderful and would be back at work very soon. Greg told her not to worry, but he was fine. Erica said she still wanted him to appear on her show. She said that she didn't want anything to spoil the plans she had for him.

Julia chewed out Josh for a diagnosis he made but he told her that she had not read the updated chart. They bantered back and forth and said what they don't like about each other, which was a lot. Julia admitted she was wrong about the chart and that Josh was right. Julia went to Anita and asked to get off Madden's medical case. Anita asked her what the problem was and she told her that both Dr. Maddens were impossible.

Jonathan and Lily met at their treehouse. Jonathan told Lily that he was the reason Ryan couldn't have his baby. He explained that no one could forget what he had done. Lily gave him list of things to do so Kendall would like him and give Ryan his baby.

Ryan went to Zach's office and asked him if he was the one who told Kendall to keep the baby from him. Ryan said he wanted to be a real father with or without Kendall, but now Kendall had decided that Ryan shouldn't be the one to raise his son. Ryan blamed Zach for Kendall's decision (and probably blames him for global warming) to give the baby up for adoption, but Zach told him that he actually told Kendall that Ryan should have his son. Zach told Ryan to get Madden away from Kendall now.

Babe was playing with Little A at Fusion and asked Kendall if she wanted to join them. Kendall told Babe that she didn't work in the baby's bedroom, so don't play in her office. Obviously annoyed, Kendall tried to get to Babe by being less than nice to Little A. Krystal came to get the baby and had a difference of opinion with Kendall. She left with Little A and went to the park. Babe went on and on about how wonderful it is to have a baby and Kendall told her to leave her alone. Being the intuitive person that she is, Babe realized that Kendall didn't want her baby. Babe continued on about how she must be nervous and when she sees the baby she will want it. Kendall told her she wasn't nervous, she just wasn't a mom.

Kendall tells Greg that she has decided to give her son up for adoption. Greg is careful not to act too pleased and tries to calm any doubts Kendall may still harbor about his sincerity by asking her if she's sure that she's making the right decision. Kendall tells him about her encounter with Krystal, Babe and little Adam at Fusion and how it brought home to her that she simply doesn't have the same strong feelings about her child as Babe and Krystal have for their children. Greg then asks about Ryan. Kendall is certain that he has the best of intentions but she believes in her heart that he is not capable of giving their son what he will need to grow up happy. It is apparent that Greg is very happy with Kendall's decision. He assures her that she is being the best mother possible by giving her child up for adoption. Kendall then asks what they should do about Ryan since she has given him parental rights to the child. Greg ponders a moment and suggests that they could take him to court to have those rights severed but that could end up being a long drawn out affair unless she's prepared to claim that she signed those papers under duress. Kendall doesn't like the suggestion. She doesn't want an ugly court battle prompting Greg to offer to take care of Ryan himself. She agrees to let him try. Kendall then expresses some trepidation about the impact her decision will have on her son given her own less than happy experience with adoption. Greg promises Kendall that he will make sure that the family he brings to the table will be open to the idea of adoption and will raise Kendall's son to know that he's a true gift from God. Greg then suggests that for the sake of peace, Kendall not tell anyone about her decision to give her child up for adoption. He fears that it will make things more difficult for him especially if he's trying to convince Ryan to go along with the adoption.

Julia tells Ryan about her visit with Greg and how he opened her eyes to the fact that she is not worthy of being a mother. Ryan is taken aback and gets her to explain herself. Julia admits that Greg is a horrible man but he was able to hold a mirror up to her so that she could see that the reason she wanted to have a baby was to make up for the life that she took. Ryan is outraged. He suggests that Greg Madden is just messing with Julia's head, exploiting her weakness in order to further his own twisted agenda. Julia disagrees. She tells Ryan that she didn't have to kill Garret. He did not pose an immediate threat to her or Di at the time and they could have just as easily tied him up and called the police. Julia did not have to kill him. Ryan tries to make her see that Garret was a horrible person who killed Noah and would have killed Di and Julia without hesitation if he had a chance. He then tells her that the God he believes in is forgiving and doesn't expect people to forsake happiness for the rest of their lives. Julia is baffled how Greg knew which buttons to push with her, but still is deeply troubled because ultimately Greg was right. After Julia leaves Ryan, she decides to go to confession to talk to a priest.

Erin and Aidan enjoy a romantic evening in the boathouse. During the evening Aidan tells Erin that he has fallen in love with her. Erin is surprised, given all of the baggage that she brings to the relationship. Nonetheless she is very happy to hear Aidan's declaration of love. They decide to go back to his apartment so that they can have some privacy.

Jamie talks to Amanda about Trevor, offering her his condolences. He then apologizes to her about the way he has treated her in particular leading Amanda on. Amanda appreciates the apology and offers her own about not trusting him with her secrets about Janet. She goes on to tell him how much she appreciates Brooke's support over the past weeks. After they make peace, they share a platonic hug. Brooke walks in just as they are hugging, prompting both to explain to her that it was just a friendly hug. Brooke laughs and after some good natured teasing, she helps Amanda pack her belongings while Jamie leaves for the hospital. As they are packing, Amanda thanks Brooke for inviting her to move in. Brooke is more than happy to have the company and offers Amanda a job at Tempo. Amanda turns it down, explaining that Greg Madden offered her a job as a receptionist to make up for the way that his son treated her. When the packing is finally completed, Brooke helps Amanda carry her belongings out of the room. While they are walking out, Brooke tells Amanda that she just finalized the last of Trevor's funeral arrangements so everything is in place.

At the hospital, Josh sees Jamie. He orders him to clean up after a patient who has vomited. Jamie refuses to follow Josh's orders, prompting Josh to threaten him with termination. The two men exchange heated words until Joe is forced to step in. He orders both of his grandsons to get along.

Erica is desperate to get Kendall out of Greg's room but Zach prevents her from storming into the room. They each try to persuade the other to reveal what they know about Zach but to no avail. When Josh comes along, things become tense. Josh warns Erica to stay away from his father. Erica isn't the least bit intimidated. She reminds him that she is free to do as she pleases and there is nothing he can do to stop her. Josh is shocked when Zach orders him to back off from Erica but it doesn't stop Josh from warning Erica one more time to leave his father alone. After Josh walks away, Erica decides to march into Greg's room but before she can do so, Ryan comes along. Moments later, Kendall walks out of Greg's room. Erica tries to find out what they discussed but Kendall is much too defensive and tells all of them that he's her doctor and what they discuss is confidential. Kendall then reminds all of them that it's her life and she wants them to leave her alone. After she storms off, Kendall ends up in the hospital's chapel where she breaks down in tears. Erica walks away, leaving Ryan and Zach alone. They exchange a look and acknowledge that they are on the same side in regards to Greg Madden but neither trust the other so each decides to handle things in his own way.

Di shows up at Dixie's room at the casino, visibly angry that her sister is still in town. Though she has enough sense to be sheepish about reneging on her word, Dixie tells her sister that she can't reveal her reasons for staying. In trying to figure it out, Di notes that even though David has uncovered her secret, he can't be the reason Dixie is risking everything by staying put. Dixie confirms that much but refuses to budge on anything further. Di refuses to accept that as a final answer. Dixie promises that once she takes care of things, she will honor the original agreement. When she does, Di will be able to continue to live her life as she chooses. Di admits that she is hoping for as much, but doesn't have faith that things will go that smoothly. She believes that because David thinks he has a good shot of being with Dixie again, it is a very real possibility that he is out and about Pine Valley, telling everyone what he knows. She tells Dixie that David has asked her to help convince Dixie to run away with him, but Dixie replies that David is being foolish and they should let him. Di says that perhaps she is the fool, and starts to leave. Dixie draws her back by apologizing and saying that she never meant for things to end up the way they have. Suddenly, Di blurts out that she and Tad are engaged and Dixie has to take a moment to compose herself. She then says that she would be lying if she said she didn't care about the news of their engagement. Di tells her that the engagement is why David thinks she will help him. Dixie reminds her sister that she is safe because isn't going to reveal herself to Tad - ever. She then starts to suggest that some of the fault lie with her sister because she didn't react properly when Janet proclaimed that she was alive. This infuriates Di, because so much more - like Janet having seen her at the Mardi Gras ball, and David running into her - is directly linked to Dixie and her carelessness. Dixie tries to apologize again, but Di has had enough. She makes it clear that the life she has in Pine Valley is finally her own, and she is risking it all for some phantom reason that she isn't privy to, one that sets her up to look like the bad guy again. She thinks it might be best for her to put an end to this once and for all. Dixie asks for trust from Di, and the irony elicits a raucous laugh. Knowing it is unfair, Dixie tells her sister that what she has to do cannot be passed off to anyone else and pleads with her to continue to keep her word.

Erica runs into Tad at the hospital and demands to know when Jeff Martin plans to return to town. Unfortunately, Tad doesn't have any good answers, as it seems that one minute it had been decided that Josh would remain in the dark, and the next his father announced that his brother would be coming home. Erica is frightened that both Joe and Jeff plan to undermine her wishes and reveal that Josh is indeed their son, effectively destroying everyone's life. Erica is convinced that she can talk Jeff out of it, and tells Tad that she plans to be at the airport when his brother arrives. Tad tells her that he isn't sure when Jeff will get to Pine Valley, having been delayed in Kenya. In addition, he tells her that in the end, nothing either of them say or do will make much of a difference - with Jeff being a stand-up kind of guy, he will decide what he wants to do on his own. Erica looks slightly hurt, and asks if Tad now believes that she should tell Josh how they are connected. Tad says that he doesn't want to tell her what to do, but that he is starting to think that telling the truth might not be such a bad idea. Erica seems flabbergasted, but Tad quickly reminds her that all of the secrets that their combined families have tried to hide have blown up in one way or another despite their best efforts. Erica believes that even though Tad doesn't agree - he has some sway with his father and brother that could make the threat of the truth coming out disappear. Tad tells her that it was one thing when Josh was planning to leave town, but now that he is staying, working at PVH for his grandfather, it's a whole different story. In addition, even though he promised to keep her confidence, other people - like Greg Madden - didn't promise and could affect everyone's life if they so choose. Darkly, Erica notes that Greg won't be a problem, but in trying to come to a resolution, Tad misses that turn, tells her that she can't be sure, and then says that he will do the best he can.

Jonathan and Lily meet in the tree house again and Lily reveals that she found the spare key to Kendall's condo. Lily assures Jonathan that no one saw her looking for the key, and that Kendall isn't aware that it's missing. The look on Jonathan's face puzzles her but he explains that he really is excited about their plans. They review their list and cross off the things that they have already taken care of. Then they talk briefly about how glad they are to have a real friend in each other. Lily tells him about how the people at her other school were nice, but that they didn't act like she thought a friend should. In turn, Jonathan talks about how his bad home life affected his ability to have friends growing up. Lily finishes his thought - saying that if other kids in his school went to his house, they would find out that his dad hit them - and this both startles and pleases Jonathan. When she inquires into why, Jonathan tells her that doing such things makes them best friends. He thanks her again for helping him plan Kendall's surprise, saying that he couldn't be successful without the help of his best friend. Lily tells him that once, her father said that the best marriages were when the husband and wife were also best friends. Confused, Jonathan then asks her if that meant she wants to marry him. Lily reminds him that she has 28 days until her 18th birthday, and that they agreed to table the discussion until then. He asks her if she'd been thinking about it and, as best friends, she admits that she had. Given that, Jonathan tells her that he will go back to waiting until she brings it up again. All business again, Lily tells him that it is time to implement their plan, and gives him some directives before they go.

Ryan shows up at Kendall's condo just as Jack knocks on her door. After tersely observing that Kendall isn't home, Jack prepares to leave. Before he can, Ryan admits that he could use some help. Jack can't fathom how he could be of assistance to any Lavery, but Ryan quickly tells him that he would like pointers on how to be a father. He tells Jack that he has always respected the way Jack's kids come first. Over the past year, Ryan notes that he has come to learn things about himself that he never expected - most importantly, that he could love a child of his own. Jack makes a quip about what a shame it is that he didn't figure it out earlier. Ryan thinks about how he screwed up every day, and can't imagine who he was that he could ever ask Greenlee to give away their child or never get pregnant. He then notes that he knows Jack hasn't forgiven him, and he just wanted to make it clear that he can never forgive himself for treating his daughter so carelessly. Jack manages to soften a little, and thanks Ryan for backing him in his decision that Lily and Jonathan should stay apart. Ryan quickly confirms his agreement, and adds that Jonathan made a promise that he would honor Jack's wishes. Jack finds himself pleasantly surprised that Ryan wants to actively parent his son, and wishes him all the best in this second chance. He then reveals that he stopped by to see Kendall because they never had the chance to clear the air after Greenlee left town. He wants to attempt to make things right because he considers Kendall his daughter as well. He asks Ryan where her head is at with regard to the child, and Ryan admits that he doesn't know. He informs Jack that the last time that he spoke to Kendall, they were on completely different pages. Regardless, he is determined to raise his son, and if he has to, he will fight Kendall for that privilege. Jack tells Ryan that Lily can very easily tell him that Jack isn't the perfect father, but one hard and fast rule is to always love your kids. He goes on to say that there are times that parents need to do things for their children, and that those things will make their children angry. Ryan asks what to do in a situation like that, and Jack tells him that you just need to let them know that they are still loved. He then tells Ryan that this baby is part of their combined family, and that both he and Kendall need to remember that they aren't alone - that he and Erica will be more than willing to help them along the way. Ryan expresses his appreciation, saying that he definitely wants them to be a part of his son's life.

Kendall arrives at the hospital as Greg is packing up his things in preparation to check out. He tells her that his attorney dropped off the adoption agreement earlier, and that she can feel free to take as much time as she needs to review it. She takes the document, but seems more hesitant than he expected she would. He attempts to confirm that she still wants to go through with the adoption and she agrees - but also admits that it feels wrong to sign the contract without Ryan being in the know. He tells her that she needs to make peace within herself that she is doing the right thing by her son. Once she does, he assures her that he will take care of Ryan for her, as promised. Kendall wants to know how he plans to convince Ryan, but all Greg will say is that although Ryan is reasonable and believes he is doing the right thing - they both know that it will only add to his problems. Greg promises that because of his previous experience, he will have no problems following through. He offers her a pen and just as he asks if she is ready to sign, she gets kicked hard by the baby. She says that she thinks that perhaps her son somehow knows he is being talked about, and Greg soothes her by saying that she has been a good mother thus far and her son is growing healthy inside her. This gives her a moment of pause, and she blurts out that perhaps she can't go through with the adoption after all. Greg asks if there is anything he can do to help her with her decision, and instead of answering him directly, she tells him about the three-way conference between Ryan, Zach and her mother that she ran into the other day. She tells him that those three have never agreed on anything before in their lives and yet - now they are all on the same team and it's not hers. Greg tells her that although she has some tough decisions to make, it's one she will have to make after listening to her heart. To help her out, she asks if he believes that the Rivingtons will give her son a good home. He tells her that he does, and asks if she needs more information on them. She reminds him that she read the file but he confesses that he has additional information that was mistakenly not included. He gives her a brief rundown of the trials the couple has gone through to this point, the last instance almost killing the wife. Kendall doesn't get why a woman would put herself through so much heartache and pain, and Greg tells her that their feelings aren't much different than Greenlee's - feeling that life isn't complete until you are a parent. Kendall thinks over all of the information, and then, before she can make any further move to sign the papers, Ryan bursts into the room. Kendall offers up that she stopped by to see when Greg would be having office hours again. The subject of the adoption quickly comes up, and Greg suggests that he and Ryan talk alone. Ryan denies his request, saying that he is glad Kendall is here because he wants to clear a few things up. He says that he knows Kendall is still considering adoption, but as far as he is concerned the subject is off the table. Greg tries to interject that it is perfectly within Kendall's rights to consider the option, but Ryan tells them that he has considered it as well, and summarily rejected it. His preference would be to raise the child with Kendall, but if she declines - he will raise his son, because there is no way he will ever sign away his parental rights. Kendall, furious that he is stepping all over her decisions, insists that Ryan will not be raising the child on his own. After noting that he won't be taking orders from her anymore than she will take them from him, he tells her that regardless of her decision, he will be raising his son - the fact that she gave him parental rights assures him of that. He then rips into Madden, saying that after the baby is born, his services will no longer be needed. Kendall interrupts, saying that Ryan doesn't have the right to claim the child - but he reminds her that he doesn't have to: the child is his. With that, he takes off, leaving Kendall veritably shaking in her shoes. She announces that she is sick and tired of having her opinions ignored. Greg tells her that he can grant her wishes, with or without Ryan's consent. She thinks but for a moment longer, hastily signs the papers and leaves the room.

Tad turns and takes his leave just moments before Josh returns to the nurses' station and confronts Erica yet again. Although she tells him that they have said all they need to say to each other, Josh dares to disagree by noting that they share the love of talking. He tells her that he hopes she hasn't returned to bother his father some more because he is fully prepared to protect him from her. Erica tells him that Greg welcomed her company, but what is unwelcome is his harassment of her every time they come into contact with each other. Josh tells her that he believes her visits to his father are harassment, but Erica simply tells him that it'd be best if he just avoid her when he sees her. Josh is unfazed by the perceived threat, and asks if she'll put him over her knee if he doesn't obey at the moment that Jack exits the elevator. Having overheard his last comment, Jack makes it clear that should Josh continue to bother Erica, he will have no problem knocking Josh down a peg or two on the ego scale. Josh isn't scared of Jack either, and trades sharp words with him easily. Erica interrupts them, saying that it is more important for Jack to keep his doctor's appointment than to get into anything with Josh. Jack barely gets his anger back in check before leaving. Once gone, Erica warns Josh to stay away from her and her family. He says he will do as she asks when she stays away from his father. Erica tells him that not only does she not take orders from him, she is at the hospital to escort Greg to the studio to tape his appearance on her show. With that, she haughtily walks away, leaving Josh to eat his words.

Erica shows up at Greg's room, set to be his escort to the studio. Practically spilling over with glee, Greg follows her eagerly, unaware that his exit is witnessed by Ryan.

David ambles down the hallway and crosses paths with Tad. Unable to resist the urge, he draws Tad in with a few barbs. He then says that he wants to congratulate Tad, and that when he is through, Tad will want to congratulate him. David says that he heard about his recent engagement and wanted to pass on good wishes. Tad thinks that's the sum total of what he'll have to hear from David, tells him to not expect an invitation and starts to walk off. David stops him, and cryptically says that Tad shouldn't act like a sore loser just because "she" liked David better anyway. Tad asks who he's referring to, but David smugly declines to answer. He then tells Tad that he needs to congratulate him on his new life. Tad says that he would gladly do so if it involved David leaving Pine Valley. David tells him that he might do just that, and when he does, Tad will never know how pathetic his life with his Dixie wannabe is in comparison. Tad tells David that he won't give him a second thought should he up and disappear, but David tells him that knowing what he knows is good enough. Without revealing any part of his hand, David retains his smug smile and continues down the hall, leaving a confused Tad behind.

Kendall arrives home to find Lily and Jonathan waiting for her as a surprise. They have decorated her place and brought gifts, all in honor of the baby.

Di is incensed that Dixie still wants to remain hidden, perhaps at the expense of her relationship with Tad. She gives Dixie one more chance to come clean about what is keeping her in town, and when she doesn't give an inch, Di goes to storm out. She is stalled, however, when she opens the door and finds Tad directly on the other side. She is sidelined when he asks what she'd been doing.

At New Beginnings, Erica stirs pills into a water pitcher as Greg waits on the set of the show. She carries the poisoned pitcher to a table beside Greg, as the crew tests the lights that are glowing on him. As Ryan looks for Erica, he sees Greg sip a glass of the deadly water, with Erica by his side, on a television monitor in her office. Erica comes to the office to meet Ryan, where he claims to know what Erica is up to. Ryan figures Erica is going to publicly humiliate Greg, which will only anger Kendall. Josh walks in when he overhears her telling Ryan she will not reveal Greg's dirt. She asks Josh to leave and he doesn't put up much of a fight. She rushes out when she sees Josh pour himself a glass of water, leaving Ryan puzzled. Josh nearly puts the cup to his lips, but Erica takes the water from his hands. She tells Greg that Josh's presence brings back horrible memories, so Greg asks his son to leave. Ryan watches from sidelines when the show begins. While he is speaking, Greg continues to look flushed and pats his face with a cloth. He talks about how he decides who is worthy of having a child or not, based on years of experience. When Greg gets out of the chair, he stumbles forward and passes out. Josh rushes to Greg's side to performs CPR, but Greg is not breathing.

Tad jokes that Di must have a secret affair going on, but she tells him the room is reserved for a VIP customer. Di goes outside, but Tad sneaks past her and decided to check out the fancy room himself. Dixie calls Zach from the bathroom, but he can barely hear her whisper so she hangs up. On the other side of door, Tad relaxes on the bed and finds some pearls in the drawer. Di offers to take them to the front desk, incase the last customer left them behind. Tad inquires about checking out the bathroom, but Di insists they go to the lobby. When she falls on the bed, Tad pounces on top of her and even suggests they test the bed out. Di is not comfortable with the situation, but Tad tries to kiss those thoughts away. Finally, Tad gives up when Di suggests she play hooky and they finish the rest of their day elsewhere. When Tad opens the door, Zach is on the other side, thinking Dixie has been found. Di quickly rushes over, as Zach pretends to grill her for disobeying his rules. When she leaves with Tad, Zach asks Dixie why she does not reveal herself and stop putting herself through an emotional rollercoaster. He brings up Dixie's lack of help with Kendall's situation, thinking she doesn't care about anyone except herself. Zach is sure the secret will come out, especially since David, Del and Di know she is alive. Dixie is certain Greg will give her the answers she needs, allowing her to leave town. Zach puts pressure on Dixie to reveal how Greg is involved with the daughter she lost, but she gets distracted when Greg and Erica pop on her television screen.

Kendall, Dixie and Zach watch as Josh calls for an ambulance on the television. Kendall rushes out of her house as Dixie tells the television that Greg can't die.

Tad and Di go to the park to fly a kite, giving him the chance to ask Di about working at New Beginnings. Di is happy with her job and unlike Tad, does not think Zach is such a bad guy.
