Finn attempted to choke Sheila, vowing to make her pay for killing Li, but Sheila knocked Finn out with a hidden sedative. Wyatt and Liam were stunned by Bill's display of kindness to a downtrodden stranger, but Liam soon identified the stranger as Li Finnegan, Finn's mother. Bill helped Li save Finn from Sheila. Li watched over a captive Sheila as Bill took Finn to the airport, but Mike conked Li on the head, helping Sheila to escape before the police arrived. Finn tried, to no avail, to contact Steffy. Taylor and Ridge arrived in France to see Steffy, Bill called them to announce that Finn was alive. Bill took Finn to Ridge's hotel. Steffy was nowhere to be found, but Finn reunited with Kelly and Hayes.

Brady stressed about Kristen's next move. Kristen forced Gabi to give her oversight of Basic Black. Eric and Jada hit it off. Eric rescued Nicole from a mugger. Jake proposed to Ava, but Nicole's mugger shot Jake over the engagement ring. Jada shot and killed the mugger. Kristen and Chloe declared war on one another. Sarah attacked Gwen during a hallucination. Sonny's brother Alex returned to Salem. Orpheus made a veiled threat about Steve's children. Kate and Chad gave E.J. their company shares. Tony convinced E.J. not to kick Chad out of the house, but Chad moved out. Jake's ghost said goodbye to Ava. Kate and Gabi consoled one another over Jake's death. Chanel chose Allie. Abe encouraged Roman to forgive Kate. Gabi convinced Ava to act as Jake's widow so that Ava could retain his stock. Rolf and Kristen stole Jake's body.

Esme managed to escape from Oz's room without detection. Curtis found Oz Haggerty in time to rush him to the hospital. Oz was put into a medically induced coma before he could reveal that Esme had drugged him. Nikolas confessed to Ava about his sexual encounter with Esme. Esme slipped into Ryan's room at Spring Ridge, and she asked him about her mother. Ryan persuaded Esme that he cared about her, and he promised to help Esme reunite with her mother once Ryan was free. Esme turned down Spencer's offer for information about her mother in exchange for helping Trina. Spencer testified that he'd been with Trina at the time the video of Josslyn and Cameron had been posted. Ava and Esme had an explosive confrontation at Wyndemere. Josslyn caught Sonny and Dex beating up Felty, and she threatened to hand over the video recording she'd made to the police, but Dex managed to persuade Josslyn to delete the incriminating footage. Felty told Smoltz that Sasha had been under the influence the night of the accident that had killed Harmony. Willow asked T.J. not to share his concerns about Willow's health with Michael. Maxie offered Cody some advice on wooing Britt. Brando was upset when Sasha announced that she had decided to forgo therapy. Valentin made a partial confession to Anna when she expressed reservations about continuing their relationship.

Ashland became increasingly unhinged as he ranted about Victoria's cruelty. Nick burst in and intervened when Ashland lunged at Victoria. Nick punched Ashland, causing Ashland to fall and hit his head on the brick hearth of the fireplace. Unable to find a pulse, Nick believed he had killed Ashland. Victoria and Nick stepped outside to get some air, and when they returned inside, Ashland was gone. Victor suddenly showed up, claiming his security detail had alerted him. Nick later found Ashland's signet ring on the floor by the French doors, and he turned the ring over to Chance. Chance reported that Ashland had been found dead in his car at the bottom of a ravine. Nick was suspicious about the role Victor might have played in Ashland's death. Sally overheard Adam confide to Sharon that he'd broken up with Sally to avoid holding her back. Sally tried to convince Adam to give up the charade and even pulled him into a kiss, but he maintained that things were over between them. Sharon advised Sally to prove that Adam meant more than her job at Newman Media. Sally attempted to quit her job, but Nick urged her to reconsider. After a pep talk from Chloe, Sally decided to stay on. Kyle and Summer struggled with telling Harrison about Ashland's death, but Diane took over and gently explained the situation to the boy. A grateful Kyle thanked Diane by telling his son that Diane was Harrison's grandmother.
