Evangeline explains to Natalie how Cris' hopes of reuniting with his beloved wife drove him to finally file an appeal. Nash is relieved to see Tess emerge at last and rush into his arms. Viki brings a panicking Dorian to Victor's mausoleum and locks the door, then urges her rattled nemesis to start the ranting and raving which used to summon Niki forth. Antonio begins to worry when he's unable to raise Jessica on her cell phone. Nash explains to a pleased Tess why he's decided to call their wine label "Free Spirit." Natalie accuses Evangeline of taking Cris' case in order to further her own dreams of reconciling with John. Meanwhile, inside the embattled prison, John struggles to perform CPR on Cristian after he stops breathing. As she argues bitterly with Viki, Dorian suddenly comes face to face with the dreaded Niki Smith. Bo interrogates one of Carlo's hired goons. Natalie admits to Evangeline how conflicted she feels about the two men in her life now that she knows how they both lied to her for months on end. Dorian tries to phone for help but is knocked cold by Niki. Bo argues with the head FBI agent about the best way to defuse the riot and capture Carlo before he kills his hostages. After Cris comes to, John contemplates moving his wounded companion to a safer location. Nash persuades Tess not to leave Llanview.

Clint fears the worst after finding Dorian lying on the floor of Victor's crypt. Tess brings Nash to one of her favorite watering holes, where she bemoans the fact that her pregnancy prevents her from tossing back a few drinks. Natalie explains to an astonished Rex how she's just learned that her husband is alive and John knew all about it. Dorian comes to and tells Clint how she was attacked by Niki Smith. Nash reminds Tess he's not going to give up on her no matter what. Niki makes her way to Foxy Roxy's and tries to liberate the beauty salon's lockbox. Inside the stairwell at the penitentiary, Cris and John assess their dwindling options. Roxy sneaks up on a would-be thief and is surprised to find "Viki" in her shop. Tess feels the baby move for the first time. Roxy offers to give Niki a new do to freshen up her look. John and Cristian agree not to stand in each other's way once Natalie makes her choice between them. Spencer wanders through the cemetery and stops at the gravesite of Kevin Buchanan, Jr. He muses aloud, wondering why the good die young. In his mind's eye, he sees gravestones for all of his enemies and vows to do them all in: Dorian, Asa and Todd. He sees himself with Blair.

Dorian runs into a snobby acquaintance of hers at the Palace and listens to her bad-mouth everything including David (she urges Dorian to find someone closer to her own age). When Dorian graciously accepts the extra glass of champagne on her table, she tosses it on the woman instead. The woman, Bunny Logan from Logan's Department Store, attacks Todd next, via Blair, who is promptly assisted by Spencer. He urges Bunny to get a new face lift as her current one hasn't been too successful. When he sits down with Blair he disappoints her by not being able to support her decision to help Todd by talking to the district attorney. After she leaves, Ginger, having witnessed Spencer's temper tantrum, takes her spot and accuses him of using her. They argue and Ginger denies being like Spencer. She threatens to tell Blair everything that Spencer has been up to because she likes the Mannings but he frightens her with his own threats. Nearby, Asa and Dorian have taken their own table to plot against Spencer and the commotion causes them to look up and watch. Asa is momentarily contemplating not teaming up with Dorian but quickly changes his mind. She suggests they hire a private detective to find out about Spencer's skeletons, noting that one is apparently appearing right before their eyes.

Jackie McNaughton receives a subpoena and puts in an appearance in Hugh's office. He denies it at first but Hugh is able to persuade him to admitting that he had a meeting with Todd after a call is made to put Jackie under arrest. The file in Hugh's possession has pictures made from security tapes that show the men together. He further admits to Todd wanting to hire him to kill Margaret and when he turned him down, Manning vowed to find another way. With the receptionist unable to keep her out, Blair bursts into the office in time to hear what Jackie has to say. She accuses him of lying and denies seeing the men together (as she thinks back to the time when she did indeed see them). Hugh promises to prove Todd's guilt and tells Blair she may have to testify against her husband.

Kelly and Kevin run into Paige at the hospital where Kelly is about to take some tests for her procedure. Paige voices her opposition to Spencer performing the procedure but then chalks it up to a messy divorce. Kevin is pretty nervous about Kelly going through with it but she convinces him otherwise. David calls upon his former sister-in-law and advises her that Spencer has threatened him; they agree that they're tired of his controlling them but David admits to having figured out his brother's weak spot, Blair. Paige mentions that she's a murderer if David is. Apparently, Spencer has another bomb to drop on them and David has no idea what. He jokingly suggests they kill Spencer and Paige considers it seriously.

Starr visits her father and admits to not being certain whether Todd is innocent or not but she knows he did it for his family if he's guilty. Todd is adamant that he did not kill Margaret and Starr accepts it. An angry Blair shows up a short time later and accuses Todd of lying to her. She tells him that she may have to testify against him. Todd doesn't want her to tell the truth which only angers her more. Spencer was right, she declares. Todd only disappoints her and she's not sure if she believes him now.

Kevin and Kelly head to Kevin Jr's. grave so that Kelly can share the news of a new baby. She promises that they will not forget about him and that he was loved very much. They will be sure to tell the new child all about him. Ginger is in the park and tries to call Blair but when she starts the message she ends up not saying what she first intended. She only leaves a cryptic message that "he's not what you think he is." The couple sees a crying Ginger who jumps up from her bench, yelling that they can tell her off if they want. They are confused but she runs off into the path of an oncoming car. There's a screech of brakes.

Hugh receives a file from the coroner's office and he seems pleased.
