Who is Adam in Supernatural?

Adam Milligan is the son of Kate Milligan and John Winchester, making him the younger half-brother to Dean and Sam Winchester. He is killed by a ghoul years before his first appearance on screen and the ghoul then assumes his appearance and calls John Winchester to lure him into a trap. Instead, as John is dead, Sam and Dean answer the call, see through the trap, kill the two ghouls, and then burn the body of their half-brother.

However, he does return later on as he serves as the vessel of Michael after Dean refuses to accept the archangel and is sealed alongside Lucifer, Michael and Sam in Lucifer’s Cage by Sam himself. However, while Sam’s body is rescued by Castiel and his soul by Death, Adam is left behind in the cage with Michael and Lucifer.

He remains there for quite some time until God opens every door in Hell and both Adam and Lucifer escape and reach an agreement during their years together. So much so, that the two share Adam’s body while attempting to figure out their purpose in the changed world. However, Adam does die a little while later when God wipes out all life on Earth although Michael does survive and continues to use Adam’s body.
