Who is the Crazy Cat Lady from The Simpsons?
The Crazy Cat Lady, whose real name is Eleanor Abernathy, is one of The Simpsons’ recurring characters and arguably one of the most chaotic presences on the show. She’s normally seen barefoot, wide-eyed, and surrounds herself with a large number of cats. As if that’s not enough, Abernathy is seen chucking her cats at passerby, although no exact reason is ever given.
However, eventually it is revealed that the Crazy Cat Lady was once a gifted prodigy who was studying in law school at age 16, and by 24, she also had an MD from Harvard. However, by 32, she had suffered burnout, turned to alcohol, and had become obsessed with her pet cat while randomly cutting pieces of her hair as well. By 40, she became Crazy Cat Lady, which was her age when the show began and still is as of 2025.
