Jack and Margo raced into Fairwinds and found what looked like a body wrapped up in a carpet. Jack unrolled the rug and found it was filled with pillows. Julia had left her calling card on one of the pillows. After a quick search of the house, they put an APB out on Julia and then headed back to the station to figure something else out.

Julia and Barbara drove in a car along an unfamiliar road. Julia asked, "Are you scared, Barbara?" Barbara tearfully said yes. Julia said all would be revealed in time. Barbara asked, "Are you going to kill me?" Julia smiled, and Barbara asked what was behind the smile. Julia said she was just focused on saying goodbye for good.

Pulling the stun gun out of her pocket, Julia said, "It's time, Barbara. Does this make you nervous?" Julia handed her a present, saying it was for Jack, then they reminisced about old times. Julia recalled how much fun they had all had eating at the Lakeview. Julia said, "I never doubted that you cared for me." They hugged, Barbara cried, and Julia got out of the car and walked away.

Katie deliberated over whether she should search for clues about Simon's past on the web, and eventually trusted her husband to step forward with the truth. She printed out information on a cottage she had her eye on for her future home and showed the details to Simon when he got home.

Craig crashed the party on the WorldWide jet. Lucinda tried to throw him off the plane, but Lily intervened saying he had lost someone he loved too. Craig said thank you for the support, and Lily said, "Shut up and sit down. You owe me!" Margo stopped by and updated everyone on the Julia situation. She told Paul that Julia had taken his mother hostage and that Will needed him in Oakdale right away to keep him safe. It tore Paul up to have to choose between the woman he loved and his brother, but he decided to stay in town.

Hal took Dr. Dixon to see James. After a cursory inspection, John said James needed to be moved right away, "or he dies." Hal got loopy and demanded that John treat James right there. John asked for blankets because James was cold and clammy. Hal left the room and locked the door behind him. John wondered what was going on. When Hal returned, John tried to call for an ambulance for the very sick James. Hal ripped the phone from John's hands and demanded that John stabilize James immediately.

Barbara found her way back to Oakdale and the police station. Almost everyone was relieved to see her, except for Paul. Margo and Jack asked if she knew where Julia was, but it had been too dark, and she had been too scared to focus on following Julia around for answers. Once Barbara learned that Paul had stayed in town instead of running to see Rose, she stood up and looked at him in disbelief. "You stayed for me? You gave up seeing Rose for my sake?"

Paul burst Barbara's bubble pretty fast. "I stayed for Will, not you. We are not going to forget the past anytime soon." Barbara asked if Paul would "open your mind and heart to the possibility that I can get better." "What you've done is criminal! You are on your own. Keep your distance, and Rose and I will keep ours," Paul said.

Jack and Margo felt it would be best if Barbara stayed in the police station instead of at Fairwinds or with Lisa, so they set up a cot for her in the interrogation room.

The pilot of the WorldWide plane walked back to the cabin. Apparently, customs was turning the jet around, and Rose wouldn't be able to leave the country.

In Brussels, Inspector Dupree refused to allow Lucinda to take Rose on her jet because he had no proof Rose was who she claimed to be. Lucinda threatened the inspector, and Craig offered his own kind of threats, both with no effect. However, it was Lily who managed to get through to the officer by explaining her heartache over the loss of her twin sister. Dupree allowed Lily to let Rose use her passport to exit Brussels.

When Rose boarded the jet, she was disappointed to find everyone but Paul, but Lucinda and Lily explained he'd had to tend to Will, who might be shaken up by his mother's recent problems. Rose continued to tell her story about Dr. Weston, Libby, and the rest of the spa, however, Craig blasted Rose for leaving Carly and Emily behind and supposedly dead. Lucinda and Lily were quick to put Craig in his place, and Craig offered an apology. Later, Rose passed out, and Lucinda urged the pilot to get them home quickly.

John convinced Hal to let him go to the hospital to get some medication for James, but only after promising not to tell anyone where James was. Meanwhile, upstairs at the station house, Barbara leaked to Hal that Rose had been found and would be back in Oakdale the following day. Barbara seemed to think it would provide answers, but Hal leaked out that there weren't any answers to be had from Rose. When Barbara mentioned Emily's name, Hal became confused and flashed back to kissing Emily. Hal stated how he couldn't get into it with Barbara, considering they had once been lovers.

Over burgers at Al's, Margo hung up after top talking to someone at home, and Jack was impressed by how Margo held everything together at work and still had time to find out everything going on at home. Margo then credited that to her partner and husband. Margo tried to get Jack to open up to her about what Julia had done to him. Margo assured him she knew what he was going through, since she had been through all of it before.

Later, Jack opened the present left for him by Barbara and found a positive home pregnancy test. Meanwhile, Julia headed out of Oakdale for a life on a commune. Sensing that the disappearance of the women and Julia's reappearance could be related to James, Jack urged Hal to get some psychiatric help. Instead, Hal ended their friendship.

John leaked to Margo about James being in the basement of the station, but Margo thought Tom had put John up to it as a way to cheer her up. After John convinced Margo, they went to the station, but when they ran downstairs, James was gone. He had left behind an empty I.V., which proved they had, in fact, been there.

At Al's Diner, Katie and Simon talked about her dream cottage. Katie's phone rang and interrupted their conversation. It was Dahlia, who insisted on seeing Katie. Simon left, and three college girls approached Katie and told her how much they loved her exercise video. Katie was pleasantly surprised. Just then, Dahlia arrived and told Katie that they had test-marketed the video on college campuses. The next step was nationwide, and soon they'd be rich.

Dahlia said Katie would be able to live in a castle. Katie said she preferred a "sweet little cottage in the woods." Dahlia started to laugh and warned Katie not to let Simon stifle her. She said that she saw Katie as a rising star not as a happy homemaker. She didn't want Katie to settle. Katie defended herself and told Dahlia she would love to spend her time with Simon in a cute little cottage.

Later on, Simon tried to find Katie her cottage but only found a place that was a true handyman's special. It was a complete wreck. Katie met him there and was not interested in the place. However, Simon convinced her that it could be wonderful. He said it had taken him a while to fall in love with her, so it would take time to fall in love with the place. He said he could see their future there.

At the police station, Jack told the police officers to look for James Stenbeck. He didn't mention that Hal was missing too. Margo told Jack and Barbara that Julia had been seen with "deadheads" in Oklahoma. Margo convinced Jack to go home and get rest.

Margo lied, telling Jack that she would meet with Rose when she returned. Actually, Rose had arrived back in Oakdale, and Margo had an appointment with her in the afternoon. Simon went to the station, and Margo told him that they were looking for Hal, who had been taking care of and protecting James. Margo told Simon to "stay available."

Paul arrived at the police station to pick up Barbara. He told Barbara he was going to meet Rose. Barbara insisted on going to Fairwinds even though Margo had said she could not protect Barbara there.

Later on, Craig showed up at the police station. Margo did her best to get rid of him and told him that he was not a part of the investigation. He asked where Jack was. Margo told him that she had sent Jack home to get rest and that if Craig disturbed him, she would press charges against Craig.

Jack went home and saw his front door was open. He took out his gun and stepped inside. He heard singing and relaxed when he realized it was Mitzi. She was happy to see him. Jack was pleased that Mitzi had cleaned his house. She told him she had gotten rid of all the bad Julia vibes.

Mitzi prepared some food for Jack, but he sat on the couch and fell asleep. Mitzi covered him with a blanket. There was a knock at the door - it was Craig. Mitzi tried to get rid of him, but he barged in and woke up Jack. He told Jack that Rose was home. Mitzi was excited, and the three of them left to go see Rose.

Rose, Lily, and Lucinda arrived at Lily and Holden's house. Emma, Luke, and Faith welcomed Rose. Emma offered to cook, but Rose said she was not hungry. She did manage to eat some of Emma's homemade coffeecake. Lily noticed that Rose still wasn't feeling well. Rose said her face was burning, and she just wanted to take a bath - a regular, plain bath.

Rose called Paul, who was at Fairwinds, dropping off Barbara, and she told him to stop over. Paul said he couldn't wait to see her. After everyone left, Lily told Holden they should leave so that Paul and Rose could be alone. Holden told Lily how much he had missed her when she had been gone. Holden left, and Lily lit a candle and put romantic music on.

Meanwhile, Rose was upstairs, trying to get ready for Paul. She looked in the mirror and wondered what was wrong with her face. Rose walked downstairs and showed Lily her face - it looked as if she had aged at least thirty years. Rose asked what was happening to her. Just then, the doorbell rang, and it was Paul carrying a bouquet of flowers. He called out to Rose, telling her he couldn't wait to see her beautiful face.

At Fairwinds, Barbara was by herself. She decided to bravely take out a match and start a fire. Then, she heard a door open. She called out, "Paul," thinking he had returned. She didn't hear anything, so she grabbed a fire poker and called out, "Julia?" She walked to the front foyer, turned around, and saw Hal. He said, "I'm in trouble, Barbara. I need you."
