Stranger Things is a superhit American sci-fi show created by the Duffer Brothers - Ross and Matt Duffer - for Netflix. Its 1st season was released in 2016. It currently has 4 seasons, with the 5th and final season in the making. The show is set in the town of Hawkins during the 1980s. The story focuses on a group of young friends- Lucas, Dustin, Mike, Will, Eleven, and Max. Their life changes when they witness supernatural events and state conspiracies in their town. The show's cast includes Millie Bobby Brown, Finn Wolfhard, Noah Schnapp, Caleb McLaughlin, Sadie Sink, Gaten Matarazzo, Joe Keery, Natalia Dyer, Charlie Heaton, and more.

In Season 4, Dustin and his friends investigate the sudden death of Chrissy Cunningham, the popular girl of Hawkins High School. During the investigation, they find out that a creature from the Upside Down called Vecna is responsible for Chrissy’s death. As Vecna starts killing people in Hawkins, Dustin and his friends plan to kill Vecna after learning about his motives. Dustin, along with Nancy, Steve, Robin, and Eddie went into the Upside Down.


He and Eddie successfully distracted the Demobats guarding Vecna’s hiding place so that Steve, Nancy, and Robin could go inside. However, they got trapped inside Eddie’s trailer. While fighting the Demobats, Dustin gets injured and to save him, Eddie exits the trailer and lures the bats away from the trailer. Eddie gets seriously injured while preventing the Demobats from entering the real world and dies in Dustin’s arms. At the end of Season 4, Dustin reunites with his friends after defeating Vecna, informs Eddie’s uncle about his death, and calls him a hero who sacrificed himself to protect the town.

Dustin’s character was introduced in the 1st episode of Stranger Things. He and his friends group- Will, Mike, and Lucas- are the core of the show. He is portrayed as a funny, loyal, intelligent, and goofy boy. He has a lisp because of his condition called Cleidocranial Dysplasia. His sense of humor and cheerful personality quickly made him a fan favorite. He is a friendly, welcoming person who over the seasons made many close friendships. He was loyal and he proved it by being there for his friends when they were in need.


In season 1, he played an important role in finding Will with his friends. His intelligence and bravery comes in help when the group discovers the Upside Down. By Season 3, his character growth can be seen, he is no longer the scared kid he used to be. His radio helped them learn about the Russians’ plan to open the gates of the Upside Down. In Season 4, he proved his loyalty to his friends by helping them fight Vecna. In the end, he survives the attack of Demobats and is still an important part of the storyline.
