An emotional Carter struggled to get over Quinn and admitted to her that he wanted to be a husband in the worst way. He figured he could put more effort into a relationship with Paris, especially if it meant quelling Paris' suspicions about his feelings for Quinn. Even though she was adamant that she and Carter couldn't be together, Quinn refused to let him settle for Paris. Taylor and Ridge talked Steffy into leaving town. Taylor brought Ridge dinner, but when Brooke showed up, wondering if the dinner was a ploy, Ridge asked Brooke to understand that, as parents, Taylor and he needed time together. As Eric and Donna continued their affair, Eric felt guilty about Quinn. Donna wondered if she and Eric could have a future together.

Valentin and Anna spent time together at a shooting range, and they made plans for their first date. Trina was charmed by Rory when they enjoyed time at the pool and grabbed a bite to eat. Rory met Portia and Taggert. Nikolas succumbed to temptation and had sex with Esme. Ava told Nikolas that she wasn't ready to give up on their marriage. Michael filed a civil suit against Ashland for fraud. Victor enlisted Summer's help to convince Kyle to keep Ashland out of Harrison's life. Ashland seemed shaken when Sharon blasted him for lying about his cancer. Diane inadvertently tipped Ashland off about the possibility of Kyle and Summer moving back to Genoa City. Kyle had Ashland served with a restraining order. Diane was empathetic to Ashland's situation but refused to risk her chances with Kyle by attempting to plead Ashland's case. After a confrontation with Victor, Ashland considered leaving town. Jack became wary of Phyllis' motives when she repeatedly flaunted their relationship in front of Diane. Devon and Nate treaded trod carefully as they navigated their professional relationship. Sharon was unable to face the anniversary of Cassie's death, but Nick helped her through it.
