Bill and Ridge's loved ones finally felt safe after learning that Bill and Ridge had helped put Sheila away for good. Overwhelmed with emotion, Katie kissed Bill and said his fierce but reckless determination to protect his loved ones was why she loved him -- and why she'd left him. Finn sprang into action to revive Sheila, even though Li had insisted he let Sheila die. Sheila uttered that her son really loved her. Taylor and Brooke's friendship was put to the test when a family dinner at Brooke's turned into dinner for two for Ridge and Brooke. It was like old times as Brooke, in lingerie, dropped her robe. Hope and Liam argued about Thomas when Liam walked in on Hope and Thomas after she'd accidentally fallen on top of Thomas. Hope shocked herself by fantasizing about Thomas. She attempted to seduce her husband, but even then, thoughts of Thomas still plagued her.

The 2023 Nurses Ball was dedicated to Epiphany Johnson and General Hospital's 60th anniversary. Bobbie was recognized for her years of dedicated service to the hospital and the community. Victor used Lucy's inability to stay away from the Nurses Ball to lead him to Valentin and Anna's safe house. After forcing Valentin to turn over the Ice Princess necklace, Victor shot Anna. Victor arranged for Liesl to be abducted. Victor learned that Holly was not at a Swiss clinic, so he made plans for Ethan Lovett. Sonny rescued Lucy. Cody threatened to expose Gladys' secret, so she framed Cody for stealing a valuable bracelet that had been on loan to Sasha for a photoshoot. Spencer and Trina confirmed their relationship status, but Spencer quickly landed in hot water when he confronted Dex. Spencer walked into a trap. Laura was shocked to find Esme unconscious and Ace missing. T.J. and Molly told Jordan about their desire to have a baby. Linc was arrested when Brook Lynn and Blaze publicly accused him of being a sexual predator. Milo Giambetti made a special appearance during the ball.

Genoa City was rocked by the news that the ambulance transporting Phyllis to the hospital had crashed, resulting in an explosion and a fire. A paramedic revealed that the ambulance driver had swerved to avoid a deer and that Phyllis and the driver had been trapped inside the vehicle. Authorities confirmed that Phyllis hadn't survived the accident. Chance tracked down the blood sample the paramedic had taken before the accident and covertly arranged to have it tested. Stark later met a very much alive Phyllis, who wrestled with feelings of guilt over deceiving her children. Stark paid off the paramedic and implored Phyllis to leave town immediately. Elena vowed to find out why Phyllis had collapsed. Danny summoned Lily to console a devastated Daniel. Summer dealt with her grief by lashing out at Diane and throwing herself into planning a memorial for Phyllis. Michael discovered a voicemail Phyllis had left for him in which she'd claimed she was terrified of Diane after Diane had threatened to kill her, and he replayed the message for Christine. Victoria informed Tucker that she was no longer interested in acquiring McCall Unlimited. Adam was dismayed when Victor stood by Victoria's decision. Victor later told Nikki he still considered McCall to be on the market. Abby and Devon professed their love. After a talk with Chance, Abby accepted Devon's invitation to move in with him. Lily and Devon agreed to resume their business partnership. Chance asked Sharon out to dinner.
