As Rafe "confessed" to Livvie and the minister that he could not get married because he was already married, Livvie convinced Rafe that what he was remembering was a time when Rafe had pledged his love to Livvie in that very barn. Livvie acted elated that Rafe was beginning to get his memory back, but Rafe told Livvie that he only got minor flashes from time to time, and Rafe wondered how Livvie was able to put up with all of it. When Livvie told Rafe that it was because she loved him, Rafe decided to go ahead with the ceremony.

At the Recovery Room, Alison could not believe that Kate told her Kevin's remains had been found, because Alison was positive that Kevin was alive. Kate told Alison that the police had found Kevin's remains on the grounds of the Barrington estate in a makeshift grave -- and the DNA tests were conclusive that the remains were those of Kevin Collins.

Ian and Lucy returned to the lighthouse, and Lucy noticed right away that Rebecca's portrait was finally restored -- just like new. Lucy took it as a sign that the curse had been broken and Kevin would be back soon.

Meanwhile, in the Mystical Forest of Nowhere, as Rebecca slowly faded from view, Rebecca told Kevin that someone in Port Charles who truly believed had to light the candle -- and Rebecca's last words to Kevin were, "Remember in the power of belief!"

A devastated Kevin tried to console himself with the thought that, if Rebecca were able to escape Nowhere, then Kevin should be able to do the same thing. But Kevin remembered that it had taken Rebecca 120 years to find a way out -- and, by that time, everyone he knew would be gone.

Z????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????

At the lighthouse, Lucy ran around in a tizzy, eager to get ready for Kevin's homecoming. When there was a knock at the door, Lucy rushed to answer, expecting Kevin. But Lucy opened the door to Victor, who delivered the bad news that Kevin was confirmed dead -- the police had found Kevin's ashes in a makeshift grave at the Barrington estate.

At the Recovery Room, Kate warned Alison that Alison's trial started Friday, and they would need to change her plea from "not guilty" to "not guilty by reason of insanity." Alison briefly wondered if Rebecca had killed Kevin in order to prove a point. But Alison continued to insist that Kevin was alive, and Alison ran out. After Alison left, Kate noticed Rafe's medallion on the floor and picked it up.

Meanwhile, back at the barn, Rafe hesitantly went through with the marriage ceremony to Livvie. They were pronounced husband and wife, and they kissed.

Back in Nowhere, as Kevin tried to think of a way out of Nowhere, he concentrated on ways to tell Lucy that she had to find Rebecca's candle and light it, so Kevin could return.

At the lighthouse, Lucy desperately begged Ian to tell Victor that they had talked to Kevin.Ian told Lucy they could not be sure if they had spoken to Kevin -- or to Kevin's spirit. Lucy refused to listen to what they were telling her, and Lucy ran out.

Alison arrived at the candle shop/barn, and all the wedding floral arrangements had mysteriously vanished, but the Kevin candle was still there in a corner.

Alison had a gas can. Alison told Rebecca that Alison believed that Livvie was right and that Alison would have been a lot better off if Alison had banished Rebecca from her life long before. Alison begged her ancestor to tell Alison if Rebecca had killed Kevin to prove a point, but there was only silence.

Meanwhile, Rafe and Livvie returned to their cabin in the woods, and Rafe needed to be reminded to carry Livvie over the threshold. Livvie rushed off to the next room to get Rafe's wedding gift as Rafe started a fire in the fireplace and told himself that Livvie deserved for it to be a memorable night for her. Livvie returned in a slinky blue nightgown. They began to kiss.

As Kevin tried to think of ways out of Nowhere, he suddenly remembered Rebecca teaching him to get whatever he wanted by clapping his hands and believing. When Kevin clapped his hands, a tablet and pencil suddenly appeared, and Kevin began to write.

As Alison doused the candle shop with gas, she apologized to Rafe for destroying their sanctuary. But, as Alison prepared to drop the lighted match into the gas-soaked room, Lucy arrived and demanded that Alison stop.

At the cabin, Rafe and Livvie began to kiss passionately.

Frank and Karen ran into each other at the door of the lighthouse as they both arrived to extend sympathy and support to Lucy. They found that no one was home. Frank asked Karen to tell him if their relationship was over for good. Frank told Karen that he loved her and did not want to end their relationship. Karen confessed to Frank that she had slept with Ricky Garza.

At the Pizza Shack, Ricky told Jamal that he and Dr. Karen Wexler were an item.

At their cabin in the woods, as Rafe and Livvie basked in the afterglow of their wedding night, Livvie accidentally told Rafe, "The first time is always amazing, isn't it?" Rafe asked, "First time?" Livvie responded, "Yeah. You know." Rafe said, "No. I don't know. This is not the first time. At least -- according to you!"

At the candle shop/barn, Lucy told Alison that Lucy believed that Livvie had been right all along and that Alison was some kind of witch who got everyone to believe Alison's lies. As Alison tried to tell Lucy it was Rebecca and the candle from the portrait that had made Kevin disappear, Lucy heaped accusations upon Alison. Lucy told Alison that Lucy no longer believed in anything. As they argued, the candle that Rafe had found in the woods fell to the floor and rolled under a table.

At their cabin, Livvie covered by telling Rafe, "I don't know what to say. Our first time as husband and wife was special for me. I don't know. Obviously -- not for you." Rafe replied, "No. I didn't say that!" Livvie challenged him, "Then what is your problem, Rafe? What's wrong? Why can't you enjoy this? Enjoy us?"

Rafe told Livvie, "I don't know. I just keep getting this feeling -- I don't know where it is coming from -- that something is missing. Like -- there is somewhere I should be -- or something I should be doing. And it has nothing to do with you, because you have been terrific -- amazing -- wonderful -- everything!" Livvie replied, "But I can't unlock your past. And it's torturing you." Rafe said, "I guess. I don't know."

Livvie told Rafe that she would love to not have so many painful memories. Everyone she had ever trusted or loved had left her, and Port Charles had too many painful memories of her father for Livvie to be able to stay in there any longer. Livvie asked Rafe if his past meant more to him than their future, and Rafe agreed that it was wiser to look ahead than it was to dwell on the past.

At the Pizza Shack, Jamal told Ricky that Ricky should leave Frank and Karen alone and let them work their problems out first -- before Ricky butted in. Jamal told Ricky that it was not cool for some other guy to slip in and boost a guy's girlfriend while they were trying to work things out. Ricky told Jamal that it was not Ricky's fault that Frank had gone postal on Karen, and Ricky planned to go for it with Karen.

Meanwhile, back at the lighthouse, Karen tried to explain to Frank about her feelings for Ricky. Frank asked Karen if she could ever love Frank again -- the way she had before all the strange things had taken over their lives.

In the meantime, back at their cabin, Rafe told Livvie that he could not stop thinking about his missing years, and Livvie suggested that maybe, if Rafe let go of the past, it would return to him. Rafe agreed that Livvie might be right, and they began kissing.

At the candle shop, Lucy told Alison not to even say the word "believe" to Lucy. As Alison begged Lucy not to give up on her, Doree arrived to arrest Alison. Doree told Alison that Alison's bail had been revoked because of the new evidence.

J and Shannon stopped by the Pizza Shack, and Ricky introduced them to Jamal as members of the band Ricky had been playing with. J and Shannon invited Ricky to play with them on the following night, and Ricky invited Jamal to go listen to Ricky play in the band. Jamal agreed. After Jamal left, Ricky announced his plan to invite Karen to be there as well.

At the lighthouse, Frank reminded Karen that he had traveled through time for her, and that gave their love a timeless magic that no one else could ever hope to duplicate. Frank told Karen that he was going to be at the high school bleachers the following night -- which had been their special place when they had been time traveling -- and, if Karen would meet Frank there, it would be a chance for a new beginning for them. But after Karen left, Frank had a sudden, overwhelming vision of Karen and Ricky in bed together.

Back at their cabin, as Rafe held a sleeping Livvie in his arms, he had a sudden vision of looking down at his wife -- and seeing Alison. Rafe wondered, "Who is this girl I keep remembering? Why do I get the feeling she needs me?" At the same time, the police took Alison away.

Alone in the candle shop, Lucy told Kevin that she wished there really was a magic candle that would return Kevin. As Lucy left, the candle that Rebecca had given to Alison was still under the table where it had fallen during Lucy and Alison's argument.

Ricky found Karen at the hospital and excitedly invited her to watch him play drums with a band. When Karen realized that Ricky's big moment would be that evening, Karen told Ricky that she could not make it. Ricky immediately questioned why Karen would not be able to make it to his big night.

At the lighthouse, Lucy was trying to focus on a memorial for Kevin, and Ian tried to keep her from falling apart.

Meanwhile, in the Mystical Forest of Nowhere, Kevin had sketched Lucy's picture, and he hung it in a nearby tree, where there were other pictures already hanging.

Frank arrived at the high school bleachers to wait for Karen and remembered asking Karen to meet him there that night.

At the hospital, Ricky tried to convince Karen that her relationship with Frank was toxic to her.

At the lighthouse, Lucy told Ian that she still did not believe that Kevin was dead. As Ian took Lucy in his arms to comfort her, a deliveryman arrived at the door with a package. Lucy said she was not interested in any kind of package at that moment, but Ian told Lucy that the package was from Kevin.

On the high school bleachers, Frank remembered naming Karen prom queen when he had gone time traveling to rescue her. Frank suddenly had more flashbacks of Karen in harlot-red, just as Karen arrived to keep their date.

In Nowhere, Kevin told Lucy that she would love the kind of universe he had found -- where a person could have anything they wanted just by believing. Kevin suddenly remembered it was Lucy's birthday and wondered if she had gotten the gift he'd ordered for her.

Meanwhile, at the lighthouse, Lucy tore open the package and found that Kevin had had a star named after her.

Ricky returned to the hospital, ready for his big night, expecting to find Karen. However, one of the nurses gave Ricky an envelope from Karen, and when Ricky opened the envelope, he realized that Karen had returned his ticket for the front row seat Ricky had reserved for her.

Meanwhile, on the bleachers, Karen told Frank that she remembered he had traveled in time to rescue her, and if Frank really was better, Karen would be willing to give their relationship another chance, but she did not want to rush it. They hugged.

Back in Nowhere, Kevin told Lucy that for him to return to Port Charles, she had to believe. As Kevin called to Lucy to believe, Lucy went out on to the porch to look for her star.

Wondering if sketches of Lucy would be all that Kevin would have for the next hundred years or so, Kevin dropped the sketch he'd just made -- and panicked when he realized he could not find the sketch again in the mist.

Meanwhile, in Port Charles, on the lighthouse porch, Lucy asked for a sign from Kevin -- then she went back inside. However, as Lucy left the porch, Kevin's sketch of Lucy floated down to the porch.

At Rafe and Livvie's cabin in the woods, Livvie watched Rafe sleep, and she quietly told him that she did love him -- more than she'd ever thought possible. Livvie got a cell phone call from Victor, who told his granddaughter that they'd found Kevin's remains. Victor was shocked when Livvie told her grandfather that she needed some time alone to deal with the latest developments in her father's murder. But Livvie promised that she would return in time to testify against Alison.

After Victor spoke to Livvie, Jack and Jamal found Victor at the lighthouse bridge, and they told Victor they were sorry to hear that Kevin's death had been confirmed by the discovery of his remains on the Barrington estate. Victor shared with Jack and Jamal his surprise that Livvie had not rushed to return home to be with the rest of Kevin's grieving family.

As Jack and Jamal discussed Alison's case, they realized that they both did not believe that Alison had murdered Kevin or hidden Kevin's ashes on the Barrington property. Victor shared with Jack and Jamal his grief that there was nothing left of either of Victor's twin sons except their ashes.

After hearing from Victor that Kevin's remains had been discovered by the police, Livvie gloated that planting the ashes would guarantee that Alison would be executed just like her crazy grandmother, and Livvie would be free to live happily ever after with Rafe. Rafe woke up just then and asked Livvie what she'd just said.

Meanwhile, in jail, Kate told Alison that the judge would let them change Alison's plea to "not guilty by reason of diminished capacity." Kate informed Alison that Kate planned to put Alison on the stand and allow Alison to tell everything Alison knew about Kevin's disappearance -- from the very beginning. Kate told Alison that such a tactic would mean that, instead of the death penalty, Alison would be in a psychiatric institution and be out by the time she was 30 or 35. She would still have time left to live a fairly normal life.

Back on the lighthouse bridge, Jack and Jamal were surprised to learn that Kevin's twin brother, Ryan, had burned to death in a fire -- and they asked Victor for more details about Kevin's twin brother, Ryan. Jack especially quizzed Victor about where Ryan's ashes might be. Jack was surprised when Victor told Jack and Jamal that Victor had kept Ryan's ashes and had them at the house with him.

After Victor left, Jack reminded Jamal that identical twins would have the same DNA. Jack suggested that Livvie could have lifted Ryan's ashes from Victor then buried Livvie's Uncle Ryan's ashes on the Barrington property, presuming that the police would leap to the conclusion that the ashes belonged to Kevin, so that Livvie would make sure Alison was convicted of murdering Kevin. Jamal agreed that Jack might have unraveled much of the mystery.

Back at their cabin, Rafe asked Livvie to tell him why she was crying, and Livvie told her new husband that she had just been informed that her father's remains had been discovered in a makeshift grave on the Barrington estate. Rafe suggested that Livvie might want to go home to be with her family, but Livvie told Rafe that what she really wanted to do was "leave this whole horrible nightmare of a town behind me."

As Rafe and Livvie talked about leaving all the bad memories behind, Rafe described seeing flashes of a girl who was haunting him. Rafe described the girl as someone like that Alison who had stopped to visit -- only sweet. When Rafe asked if he or Livvie knew anyone like that, Livvie reminded Rafe that he was missing ten years of his life, and Livvie had only known him recently, so the girl that Rafe remembered could have been anybody that Rafe met anywhere long before Rafe met Livvie.

At the jail, Kate and Alison discussed Alison's case, and Alison finally agreed with Kate that Alison would change her plea -- and accept whatever happened to her.

Back at the bridge, as Jack and Jamal compared Alison's case to Rebecca's case, they remembered that, in Rebecca's case, the mayor had hidden evidence that proved Rebecca had been innocent and that Rev. Lodge had been alive. In Alison's case, it was Livvie planting evidence to make Alison look guilty.

Jack decided that he would try to get Livvie to admit -- on tape -- that Livvie had hidden Livvie's Uncle Ryan's ashes on the Barrington estate to make sure that Alison was convicted of murder.

Jack told Jamal that one thing that drove Livvie crazy was the fear that Livvie might end up going crazy like her real mother -- Grace. Or her Aunt Rachel. Or her Uncle Ryan, the serial killer. So Jack planned to use that fear to get Livvie to confess to planting the evidence.

At their cabin, as Livvie explained to Rafe that she knew nothing about most of his missing years, Livvie issued Rafe an ultimatum. If Rafe truly wanted to leave and live his life in the past, she could not stop him. In fact, she would not even want to stop him. Livvie opened the door and told Rafe that she was offering him a choice -- if he wanted out, then he should just go at that very moment and leave her alone.

Jack returned to the lighthouse bridge and reported to Jamal that a friend of Jack's at the phone company had helped Jack get a fix on the location where Victor had spoken to Livvie, and Jack made plans to head out to confront Livvie.

Meanwhile, back at their cabin, when Livvie told Rafe that she would not try to stop him, Rafe grabbed his gear and headed for the door. But he returned and told Livvie that he did not want out of anything. They hugged, and Rafe told Livvie that he was ready to put the past in the past -- where it belonged. Rafe promised Livvie that nothing would get in their way from there on out.

In the meantime, Alison and Kate had arrived at court, and Kate announced to the judge that Alison wanted to change her plea. As the judge waited for Alison's statement, Alison remembered all the people who had told her that she was guilty -- including even Lucy -- and Alison changed her plea to "guilty as charged."

Friday, June 21, 2002

In the Mystical Forest of Nowhere, Kevin desperately sought the sketch of Lucy that he had dropped in the mist -- but Kevin was devastated when he was unsuccessful in his quest.

In the meantime, Lucy and Ian arrived at the courthouse to listen to Alison's plea. When Jamal arrived, Lucy suddenly asked Jamal if he knew whether or not Livvie would be there. Jamal told Lucy that no one knew what Livvie would do "these days."

At their cabin in the woods, Livvie told Rafe that she was ready to leave Port Charles far, far behind -- and right away. Rafe told Livvie that they needed to get their car checked out before they left on a long trip because the car had been sounding funny. Livvie and Rafe agreed that Rafe would swing the car past the station to get it checked out while Livvie stayed behind to pack.

After Rafe left, Livvie decided she would create some memories of her own to support her version of her "love affair" with Rafe.

In court, everyone was stunned when Alison changed her plea to guilty. When Kate tried to convince Alison to change her mind, Alison told her attorney, "If Rebecca killed Kevin then I am just as guilty as she is." Kate said, "What?" Alison replied, "Kate, I unleashed her into the world. I listened to her. I did everything that she told me to do. And now I need to pay for what I did." Kate challenged, "With your life?"

Alone in the cabin, Livvie fabricated a "diary," which supposedly documented the "romantic past" that Livvie had been creating all along for Rafe, supporting Livvie's story that Alison and Jack had had jealous meltdowns when they'd discovered that Rafe and Livvie were in love with each other.

At the same time, in court, Jamal tried to convince Alison to take Kate's advice. Jamal told Alison that Jack was following up on a lead that might change everything. But Alison told Jamal and Kate that she was just tired of fighting. Alison went on to observe, "You know, the truth is -- Livvie was right. She said, 'Alison, you do not know what you are getting into. You do not know what you are doing with all of this stuff!' She was exactly right. Jamal -- look at what I have caused!"

Alison refused to enter any other plea besides guilty, and the judge ordered Alison to tell what had happened to Dr. Collins, under oath and from the stand. Alison took the stand and began by telling Lucy that she was sorry for the grief Lucy had suffered, and Alison told Jamal how much she appreciated his friendship. But Dara objected that it looked more like Alison was trying to drum up sympathy rather than telling what had happened to Dr. Collins. Alison finally began to explain about Rebecca's candles and the way Alison had tried to follow in her ancestor's footsteps by opening her own candle shop.

Alison continued by saying she'd truly believed that she had only been helping people. But people had suddenly begun to claim the candles were wicked and evil, and Kevin had gone to the candle shop to close it down. As Alison was suddenly haunted by the voices of all the people who had blamed her for Kevin's disappearance, Alison told the court that she had stabbed Kevin with a knife in the candle shop on the night that Kevin had arrived to shut down her shop.

As Jamal jumped to his feet and shouted out that it was a lie, Lucy suddenly ran out of the courtroom.

In Nowhere, Kevin decided the sketch of Lucy had to be gone for good, so Kevin began a new sketch, and the new sketch was intended to tell Lucy where he was. As Kevin began the new sketch, Lucy arrived back at the lighthouse and ran out to the porch, where she discovered the sketch that Kevin had lost in the mists of Nowhere.

Back at their cabin, as Livvie finished her fake diary and was packing it up in a suitcase, the door opened, and Livvie believed it was Rafe -- but Livvie was shocked to find herself suddenly standing face-to-face with Jack.

Meanwhile, Rafe had stopped off at the barn again and noticed for the first time that the carved heart in the beam in the barn had been sanded away. As Rafe touched the place where the heart had been, he had a flashback of being in the barn with Alison. Rafe decided he would just have to live with the fact that he might never learn who the girl in his flashbacks really was, and he would, somehow, begin to get on with the rest of his life.

As Rafe bid a last farewell to the barn and the key it might hold to unlocking his memory of the past, Rafe noticed that the candle he'd found in the woods had rolled under a table. So Rafe picked the candle up and decided to take it along with him.

As Rafe picked up the candle in the barn, at the same time, in the courtroom, Kate's briefcase tipped over, and Rafe's lost medallion spilled out of the bag. Alison saw the medallion, clutched it to her heart, and then put it around her neck. As Alison lowered Rafe's lost medallion around her neck, she suddenly collapsed.

Ian dashed forward to render first aid to Alison.
