William deVry: A Brief Biography
At A Glance
With over a decade of television and film roles under his belt, William deVry can't believe it all started with his first audition for the Florida Tourist Channel. At the time, Florida transplant deVry was fresh out of his first acting class and had just found his first agent. With no idea what to expect, he battled a bad case of nerves and a director who insisted he do the audition over and over again.
"I thought I was having a terrible audition," admits deVry. "As it turned out he was just trying to help me relax. I was so relieved when I booked the job."
DeVry's big break came in 1994 when he landed the role of a genetically engineered life form named Mathew on Steven Spielberg's SeaQuest DSV.
A native of Montreal, deVry would later move to Vancouver to seek out roles on other television projects. It worked. deVry found work in programs such as Outer Limits, Poltergeist: The Legacy, and Nash Bridges.
